I must confess that like the author, some of my favorite memories of S'mores involve campfires and Girl Scouts. A stick, a marshmallow, a chocolate bar, and graham crackers. I could get high for hours!If you remember these treats from your childhood, you will LOVE this wonderful cookbook with multiple recipes for ways that you can combine these ingredients to make new deserts with an old flavor.

Just to give you a hint. In fact, I think I'm making S'mores Pizza for dinner tomorrow! I will put it with a side of Iron Skillet S'mores, and have S'mores Snack Brownies for dessert.
If just the mention of all of this has given you a sugar high, you will love the rest of the recipes in this book.
The one thing that isn't mentioned is that you can make simple S'mores in your microwave.
2 graham cracker squares
1/2 plain chocolate bar
1 large marshmallow
Directions:
1 On paper towel place 1 cracker square.
2 Top with chocolate and marshmallow.
3 Micro on high 15 seconds or until marshmallow puffs.
4 Remove from oven and cover with other cracker.
5 Eat like a sandwich.
The only thing missing is the burned part of the marshmallows - but those never made it into S'mores anyway, I just popped them in my mouth.
Get the book, you know you will regret it if you don't. And don't tell your doctor about this, I am sure it is on his "naughty" list of cookbooks.

Delicious. I love this book. It has everything about smore's including their history. I would recommend it to anyone who loves the tasty campfire treat.
We had tons of S'mores makings from the 'Let's make them over an open fire' one night event. This book gives a great recipe for using an iron skillet!
I ordered this book for my daughter-in-law. Some of the recipes seem very good and will be enjoyed, I think. Most seem to be tasteful. I think she will enjoy going through this book, and my son will enjoy the results.
Every one of the over 30 recipes is saying, "Try me first!" S'mores Galore is the ultimate of sweet chocolate decadence. This book had me at the cover! My mouth began watering and I began craving S'mores.
I've been a collector of Jan's cookbooks for a long time and was so happy to see that she has started publishing her books on .
I do want to compliment her on the layout of this book. Each recipe begins on a new page and has bold headings making it easy to navigate and very user-friendly. The layout flows well on the and the clickable table of contents works. A real plus (actually deserves an extra star)!
Jan's writing style always makes me smile and S'mores Galore brought many grins. She comments on every recipe with additional little notes throughout. Her presentation of the instructions read more like she is standing next to you in the kitchen talking to you while making each recipe together.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who likes S'mores! You'll find it a delightful addition to your collection of anything chocolate!

This is a fun book, no other way to describe it! From the first known original S'more ("Some More") recipe dating back to 1927, to some current and incredible variations (who could turn down red velvet s'mores, or my raving new fave, German chocolate s'mores!?). I grinned through the entire thing, when I wasn't planning on the next recipe to share! It was fun to read the history of s'mores, and s'more trivia. I thought I knew about these little decadent snacks, but I found after reading Jan's delightful little book that I was woefully inept in s'more knowledge! I even learned there is a National S'Mores Day (August 10th)! Who knew?
This book is packed with "Ooey gooey tips," conversion tables, fun trivia, including the words to the S'mores song, and of course, over 30 wonderful recipes and ideas, with titles like Iron Skillet S'mores, S'mores Pizza, S'more Cheesecake Please, and how-to descriptions for making S'more waffles, biscuits, cupcakes, cookies, bread... the list goes on and on. The imagination in this book proves that when it comes to fun and sharing, we all should want Some More!
One of the little quotes in this book seemed particularly fitting to me. It is from Iris Murdoch "One of the secrets to a happy life is continuous small treats." Well, then, this S'mores book definitely contributes to a happy life, because it is most assuredly a treat!
